Walkham Valley v Oddballs

WALKHAM batted first and amassed 98 for 5 in the allotted 20 overs. The slow outfield meant boundaries were hard to come by. The top Walkham batsmen were Belt and C Shutt, both 25 not out.

Oddballs also struggled to hit fours and as the game neared the end, the result was obviously going to be very close. Tight bowling by Walkham kept the Oddballs run rate down but managed to find an elusive boundary with only three balls left to clinch victory. Only N Shutt, Spreadbury and Ralph took wickets for Walkham.

Two new players had a good debut, with Peers putting in an admirable spell with the bat and Hills showing a high degree of accuracy and pace in the three overs he bowled.
