A NEW course to West Devon entitled 'A Website in a Weekend' is being held over the weekend of March 28 and 29.

The course is being taught at Tavistock's Alexander Centre and is aimed at beginners to computing rather than people with some computer experience.

Students will not have to buy any software and the web pages are written in the simplest form using Windows Notepad.

This course has previously been taught at St Austell, Bodmin, Camelford, Totnes and Exmouth.

Tutor Peter Preston from Okehampton said: 'I'm really pleased to be offered the chance to teach this course in the Alexander Centre.

'They have an IT suite with a digital projector and up to date computers, though students are welcome to bring their own laptops if they prefer.

'During the first hour students always produce at least two linked web pages. The remainder of the course includes using different fonts, colours and students' own images.'

Previous students have written websites for equine dentistry, bed and breakfasts, horse riding centres, marquee hire, dog agility clubs, golf clubs and many others.

Samples of Peter's and his students' work can be seen at http://www.youaretheboss.co.uk">www.youaretheboss.co.uk
