THE final rounds of tennis in the Plymouth and District Leagues have now been completed.

Division One: Mens' A, Linden Hardisty and Simon Prout, Josh Brown and Luke Wakeley v Devonshire B (away) won 6-4. Linden Hardisty and Max Goodison, Luke Wakley and Will Sparkes v Devonshire A (home) lost 1-8.

Division Two: Mens' B, Phil Harbottle and Max Goodison, Gareth George and Phil Snell v Ivybridge B (home) won 6-2. Phil Harbottle and Gareth George, Pete Rodgers and Ron Skinner v St Budeaux B (away) lost 1-8.

Division Three: Mens' C, Bernard Mowle and Ray Hinton, Pete Rodgers and Ron Skinner v Ivybridge C (away) won 8-0. Bernard Mowle and Ray Hinton, Rick Read  and John White v Tavistock D (home) lost 4-6.

Mens' D, Paul Newton and Will Sparkes, Owen Drage and Charles Snow v Mannamead C (home) lost 1-8. Will Sparkes and Paul Newton, Bill Sparkes and Owen Drage v Tavistock C (away) won 6-4.

Division Seven: Mens' E, John White and John Stewart, Alex Samborne and Matt Smith v Tavistock F (away) won 8-0. John White and John Stewart, Matt Smith and Mike Baker v Plympton D (home) lost 4-6.

Mens F, Jay Sawyer and Duncan Law, Paul Jackson and John Donellan v Tavistock E (home) lost 0-8.

The final positions  of the teams are Mens A, third in Division One with 46 points. Mens B, fourth in Division Two with 43 points. Mens C, third in Division Three with 47 points. Mens D fourth in Division Three with 38 points. Mens E, first in Division Seven and promoted to Division 6 with 57 points and Mens F came fifth in the Division Seven.

Ladies A v Devonshire B won 6-4.

Ladies B, Roma McMahon and Fizz Ward, Liz Webb and Olga Rogers v St Budeaux (away) draw 4-4. Roma McMahon and Alison West, Tricia Mowle and Olga Rogers v Plympton (home) won  8-1. This team came first in their league and will be promoted to Division Three.

The finals in the junior under 18's boys. Owen Drage beat Phil Snell 6-4, 4-6, 6-3.

Girls: Cloe Greep beat Dedorah Allan 6-3, 3-6, 10-8. These were both very close matches.

 The tennis club is very grateful to the team captains for all the hard work that they do to ensure that all the matches run smoothly and to all  the members of teams who give up so much of their time to represent Tavistock Tennis Club.
