AN Okehampton film club will host a preview of the latest film by an Oscar-winning director.
Okehampton Moving Pictures will host the exclusive screening of 'Tabloid' by Errol Morris.
The documentary film explores the life of Joyce McKinney, a former Miss Wyoming who became embroiled in a nationwide tabloid scandal in 1977 when she was accused of abducting a young mormon missionary, imprisoning him in a 17th century cottage near Okehampton and sexually assaulting him.
American director Errol Morris won his Academy Award for his documentary 'The Fog of War', which looked at the Vietnam War.
The preview is a unique chance for people in Devon to participate in the launch of a prestigious film which also has strong local connections.
The showing takes place on Saturday November 5 in the Charter Hall at 7.30pm, with doors opening at 7pm.
Tickets will cost £5 on the door.
The film certification is yet to be confirmed, but is expected to be either a 12A or 15 rating.
