Pinhoe U17's 4

Okehampton U17's 1

OKEHAMPTON U17's put in another fighting display against a good Pinhoe side on Sunday.

In the first half the Okehampton defence and midfield played very well and restricted the Pinhoe attack to just a few chances that were well delt with by Scott Leyman in the Oke goal.

It was from a great ball by Dan Pengelly that enabled James Callaghan to give Oke the lead as he rounded the Pinhoe keeper and finished well from close range.

In the second half Oke tired and were restricted to the odd attack,Pinhoe were now dominating and equalised after 15 minutes of the second half after a good break down the left and a shot from close range that gave Scott Leyman no chance in the Oke goal.

Scott and the Oke defence made some great blocks to deny Pinhoe the winning goal but 15 minutes from time the pressure told and Pinhoe went 2-1 up after a good cross from the right was converted from close range.

Oke pushed on to try and get an equaliser and left themselves open at the back. The Pinhoe forwards capitalised and scored twice more before the final wistle.
