FIFTEEN members last Friday tackled the Totnes 10K, a multi-terrain course along footpaths and woodland tracks in the Dart Valley with plenty of mud, and through fields where the cows had to be corralled by marshals to stop them chasing the runners!
The weather was glorious but this took a toll on the times which were well down on a straightforward road 10K.
The club had a prize winner in Martin Exley who came an excellent eighth overall and second in the Vet 40 group in a time of 39 minutes 35 seconds.
Other results: 43rd Chris Eastaugh 45mins 33secs; 49th Allan Herdman 46.23; 65th Pete Bazley 48.05; 83rd Robert Dawe 49.33; 108th Chris Halliday 50.49; 123rd Roger Hewitt 51.50; 140th Trevor Williams 53.19; 147th Nicole Heryet 54.11; 154th Nigel Rendle 54.36; 236th Carolyn Dawe 62.17; 249th Hazel Walker 64.02; 255th Dan Bates 64.18; 288th Marion Playle 69.22; 308th Beryl Bowles 73.29.
Apart from Martin, several members came in the top ten of their age groups, Chris Eastaugh, Allan Herdman, Pete Bazley, Trevor Williams, Nicole Heryet and Beryl Bowles.
This was a club Grand Prix event, but the leading positions will be calculated after the next event on August 10, the Plymouth 10K.
