ATOTAL of £2,034.06 was raised at Gulworthy Fete and Family Dog Show at Hele Farm the sum will go towards the Two Roofs Fund for the repair of Gulworthy Parish Hall and Church roofs.

John and Rosie Steer and family and friends worked hard to prepare an afternoon of varied activities manned by volunteers from the local community.

Sunshine on the day of the event, Sunday July 25, drew many people to enjoy the fun, a cream tea and barbecue.

The curate, Tim Treanor, spent a valiant time in the stocks and got very wet in the process.

Skittles, archery from Toad Hollow Archers guess the weight of the calf and other activities challenged holidaymakers from far afield. Their presence was seen on the many draw tickets sold.

The dog show proved popular. Judge Hannah Downing, of Dapper Dogs, based at Wheal Maria, was kept busy.

The dog winning the most points during the show was Osca, a red setter, owned by Sascha Vosper. Morwenna Dash won the cup for the best child handler. The cups were sponsored by Castle Vets of Launceston and Lamerton.

Thanks were expressed to all who helped or attended the event and made it a huge success.

Work now begins on planning for next years event.
