MORWELLHAM Quay's sixth annual folk festival last Saturday has been proclaimed a huge success by the organisers, artists and visiting audience alike.

More than 1,000 people poured into the quay — the event, headlined by West Devon folk singer Seth Lakeman, was completely sold out in advance.

A top line-up of acts included Madding Crowd, Speakeasy, Tom Palmer, Rory Ellis, Mad Dog McRae, Dan Donnelly, Drunk in Public, Red Sky Coven and Rev Hammer.

Staff at the the quay worked hard to provide a constant supply of refreshments for the festival goers, who enjoyed the beautiful setting and hours of great music.

The proceeds from the festival will go to the upkeep and continuing regeneration of Morwellham Quay — it is hoped this will be the first of many high profile events that the quay will see in the future as fundraising projects.
