FESTIVALS come thick and fast this time of year . . . but this one had more 'kicks' to it than most! Okehampton Community Recreation Association (OCRA) recently ran the second annual Year 5 Football Festival at Okehampton College. More than 160 boys and girls, from Okehampton, North Tawton, South Tawton and Exbourne took part in the day. They played a variety of games and carried out various different exercises to hone and refine their skills. The day was led by OCRA with the school sports co-ordinator, Zoe Colton, helping to organise the event. Students from the college provided the coaching. OCRA reported the day to be bitterly cold but thoroughly enjoyable and because of the popularity of the sessions it will be starting a football course on Tuesday January 15 for girls aged 9 to 12. It will run for five weeks. For more details or to book a place call OCRA on 01837 54546.
