IT'S back. It's bigger. And it's better than ever. Hatherleigh Festival has become such a hot property that tickets have been snapped up not just in West Devon — but right across the country.

The festival is from July 11 to 14 and the programme of performances provides something for everyone from 1950s Vegas style cabaret, to Cuban dancing, jazz piano, theatre, choral singing and a range of workshops.

Highlighting this year is 'whispering' Bob Harris (left) — frontman of the Old Grey Whistle Test, whose Radio 2 show and work in the States have led to a recently published autobiography. Bob will be sharing his experiences of the rock world from the Stones to the Sex Pistols with an audience on Sunday evening. He will be joined by brilliant young singer songwriter Thea Gilmore whose new album 'Rules for Jokers' is enjoying much success.

A complete musical contrast is in Saturday night's classical violinist Ken Aiso who will be accompanied by Naoki Veno playing the harpsichord.

If you like dancing then the Raices Cubanas — a 10-piece Latin band fronted by Omar Puente (right)— is for you.

And there is much more. There is jazz pianist Alex Maguire, Keltaskelta, Scot What It Takes, Chipolatas and Dellands Choir. There is even a tea dance with Devon Youth Jazz.

Add to all this street theatre, a street market and sculpture trail and you know you have the 'biggest little festival in Devon'.

Festival box office is on: 01837 810823.
