AROUND 30 guests, including both recipients and sponsors, attended the annual Teignton Fayre awards presentation evening last month.

The event was held at the Drewe Arms in Drewsteignton, where a grand total of £3,300 was donated to five charities and local organisations.

The awards included £200, which went to Cheriton Bishop Community Primary School for equipment for their after school club, and £1,100 to Okehampton Hospiscare.

Chairman of Teignton Fayre Adrian Bowden presented the cheques while guests enjoyed Pimms and nibbles at the event.

Teignton Fayre secretary Sam Peirce said: 'It was a thoroughly enjoyable evening, and a good opportunity for sponsors to meet those whose organisations benefit from the proceeds of the fayre.

'It's also great to see funds awarded to so many good causes.'
