THE 'Reflections' column in the Okehampton Times often brings a 'pause for thought' aspect to its readers, and none more so than in the contribution on October 7, by John Stevens, of St Boniface RC Church.
The subject rightly covered by Mr Stevens, is a big one. and has left me thinking of the tune Repton, with the words expressed in the hymn by John Greenleaf Whitter ( 1807-92) Dear Lord and Father of mankind, Forgive our foolish ways; Reclothe us in our rightful mind; In purer lives thy service find, In deeper reverence, praise.
For sure, people of Christian denominations pray for those who have committed assaults. In turn, one can only hope that the individuals will, given time, find it in them to pray for their victims whose lives have been scarred for ever, as a result of vile acts.
