POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a fatal collision on Dartmoor on Monday evening.

Emergency services and the police were called to a report of a Toyota MR2 was in collision with a dry stone wall on the B3212 between Moretonhampstead and Postbridge at around 8.15pm.

The sole occupant of the car, a 64-year-old man from the Moretonhampstead area, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The road was closed and re-opened at around 2am on Tuesday after police had carried out an investigation at the scene.

Police are now urging anyone who witnessed the incident or saw the red Toyota MR2 sometime shortly before 8.15pm on Monday in the vicinity of the incident to contact them on 101, quoting log number 604 of September 19.
