NFU South West, Dartmoor Hill Farm Project and Bodmin Livestock will be hosting a joint meeting this evening (Thursday), to bring farmers up to date on proposed changes to the Common Agricultural Policy.

The event will take place at Belstone Village Hall from 7.15pm and is open to upland farmers from across Dartmoor. Speakers will include the National Farmers' Union's senior CAP advisor Gail Soutar and national upland spokesman Will Cockbain. The meeting will be a unique opportunity for farmers to hear how progress on proposed changes to the CAP and how they may impact on upland farming.

Dartmoor Hill Farm Project officer Ed Hamer, who has co-organised the event, said: 'The meeting will inform farmers across both Dartmoor and Bodmin how these proposals will affect their farms in particular and how they can make their views known at a national and European level.'
