Over the years the family firm has come up with some innovative ideas to display their fruit and vegetables that they grow on their Lifton farm and this year was the boldest yet. In 2012 their theme was Old Macdonald Had a Farm; in 2013 that was surpassed by the 'Magic Roundabout' but this year their 'Noah's Ark' theme was their boldest yet. The Mounce family founded Lifton Farm Shop and the wooden ark was constructed by Barry Jones, whose daughter Laura is married to Adam Mounce. Adam said: 'As well as the fruit and vegetables we raise our own animals at Lifton Farm so we came up with the idea of bringing it all together on Noah's Ark. It was a lot of hard work to put it all together but it was certainly worth it and we will be taking it next to the Royal Cornwall Show.' Their efforts certainly did not go unrewarded as their creation and innovation earned a gold award from the Devon Show judges. l Lifton Farm Shop restaurant workers Olivia Bray and Sarah Skidmore at the gold award winning Noah's Ark display in the flower and garden show marquee.
