AFTER ten years service as chef to Tavistock Golf Club, Mike Knapman is leaving the club and returning to the Torbay Area. Mike was born in Torquay and moved to London at the age of 13 and remained there for 24 years before moving back to the West Country and eventually taking up the post of head chef at the golf club. On his farewell Mike said: ?This has been a varied and interesting position, not like a hotel or restaurant, but it is all those things rolled into one. ?I have naturally many regrets on leaving and have made many friends with plenty of laughs along the way.?
