THE CHARTER Hall in Okehampton hosted the British Fuchsia Society's South West Show for the first time last Wednesday and visitors came in their droves.
The event was revived last year and held at the North Devon Agricultural Show at Torrington but when foot and mouth forced the show to be cancelled, a new venue had to be found.
Rhona Foster from the British Fuchsia Society said the Charter Hall was available and it proved to be a good choice.
'We did not get much of an opportunity to advertise the event but we had such a lot of visitors,' she said. 'We may well think about holding it here again.'
The Fuchsia Show attracted exhibits from as far as Leicester and Evesham.
