WE are the champions! Tavistock Town Under 9s are making recycling their goal this summer - and they?re hoping that everyone in West Devon will do the same as the World Cup season gets underway. The youngsters are sending out their recycling message as part of the national BIG recycle campaign which was launched earlier this month to encourage football fans to think green about their waste this summer. With World Cup parties being planned over the next few weeks, the partying spree is set to generate a mountain of World Cup waste ? all of which can be recycled through services provided by West Devon Borough Council. Newspapers, magazines, cardboard packaging, tin and aluminium cans and bottles can all be recycled through the council?s green recycling boxes collected every week from the kerbside of all West Devon homes. There are also plastic milk bottle banks across West Devon at Bere Alston, Pilgrim Drive; Chagford, Public Car Park; Hatherleigh, Public Car Park; Horrabridge, The London Inn Car Park; Lydford, Castle Inn Car Park; North Tawton, Butts Way; Okehampton, Market Street car park; Princetown, Public Car Park; South Zeal, Public Car Park; Tavistock, Riverside; Tavistock, Morrisons Car Park; Tinhay, near telephone box and Yelverton, Leg-O-Mutton Car Park. A host of stars are also urging football fans in West Devon to give a red card to waste. The BIG recycle campaign is being backed by ITV football presenter Gabby Logan, former England international footballer Graeme le Saux and actor and impressionist Alistair McGowan.
