CUSTOMERS were greeted with gifts by staff in fancy dress recently as Gunnislake Stores held an event to celebrate winning the Selected Successful Independent Store award.

The store in Fore Street, owned by Katie and James Gabbitas, was given the award by the store's umbrella company, Premier.

To celebrate their success, staff at Gunnislake Stores dressed in fancy dress, gave out free lollipops to all the children and are holding an ongoing scratch card promotion.

Katie Gabbitas said the event was a great success: 'We were absolutely heaving. The scratch card prizes range from on the spot prizes like a packet of crisps or chocolate right up to the top prize of £2,500.'

The scratch card promotions will continue running in-store until a lucky customer wins the top prize. Scratch cards will be given away to all adults, when they spend £5 or more on groceries.
