PLACES are available for boys and girls in the Yelverton area who would like to become members of the scout movement.

Walkham Valley Beaver Scouts has places available for children aged between five-and-a-half and eight.

The group generally meets at Walkhampton Village Hall on Tuesday evenings between 5.45pm and 7pm, although they often get out and about on trips.

Recent activities included a running trail near Long Ash and mask making for Hallowe'en.

The group is led by dad of three Rob McDermott, and Paul Allen, who is on the governing body of the West Dartmoor Federation for Meavy and Walkhampton Schools.
