AN EVENING of acoustic music for all the family will be filling the Charter Hall in Okehampton on New Year's Eve.
The event runs from 8.30pm to 12.30am and will feature some of Devon's most popular folk artists.
It promises to be a fun and friendly alternative to over-loud bands and discos and there will be an opportunity for musicians and singers to perform.
Last year, more than 30,000 people took part in Wren projects and this event will help the organisation to raise funds to support its year-round programme of music and singing projects with people of all ages, all over Devon.
Following the success of of the Acoustic Cafe event held at the hall last year by Wren, people have been requesting a similar sort of family-friendly entertainment.
The evening will see performances from Marilyn Tucker and Paul Wilson, renowned for their strong vocal harmonies and instrumental variety.
The duo have a wide selection of traditional songs and tunes, including many from Devon's rich cultural history.
There will also be traditional and contemporary English music from the fiery fiddlers Nick Wyke and Becki Driscoll, two of the leading lights of the new generation of Devon-based folk artists.
Tickets are £20 for adults and £10 for under 16s if bought in advance, or £25 for adults and £15 for under 16s on the door. Entry includes a finger buffet but people are asked to bring their own drinks and glasses due to no bar.
Advance booking is advisable and tickets are available at the office until Friday December 19 or can be reserved by post or phone: 01837 53754.
