AFTER losing her young husband to a heart attack a few years ago, Julie Crosby and her new family have been raising money for charity ever since.
An imaginative Auction of Promises in Horrabridge with friends and family enabled a donation of more than £1,000 to the British Heart Foundation.
Owen Penney, fundraising manager for the BHF in Devon, said: 'We are very grateful to Julie for thinking of us after losing her husband so tragically.
'Unfortunately, heart disease is the UK's single biggest killer. Heart and circulatory disease can affect anyone, at any time, young or old. One in six men and one in nine women die from heart disease. The sad reality is that many of us already know someone who is affected by heart disease. It can cause frightening and prolonged suffering.'
The British Heart Foundation relies solely on donations of time and money to continue its vital work and save lives. Although a large organisation, every donation, no matter how small, will bring BHF closer to its goal.
