OKEHAMPTON Barnardos run children's centre and the Devon County Council run children's centre in Hatherleigh are joining forces with agencies and voluntary organisations, to host an afternoon full of activities and information.

All families with children up to five years old are invited to attend the event, where youngsters will have the opportunity to discover, play and learn with fun Christmas card activities.

Parents and carers can get information, help and advice on a wide variety of services including benefit entitlements, returning to work, training, childcare and general advice and support.  

Representatives from local nurseries, such as Stepping Stones and Toadhall and organisations such as Jobcentre Plus, Homestart West Devon, Family Learning, Welfare Rights and the Citizens' Advice Bureau will be among the range of professionals able to inform and advise families.  

Refreshments will be available all afternoon and all parents and carers are welcome to attend the event, which is free.
