ALL the family and their dog are welcome to come along and enjoy a show with a difference being held near Okehampton next month.

The charity family dog show, dog jumping and wellie throwing fun day, will be held in aid of The Exeter Leukaemia Fund (ELF), who support the work of the Haematology Centre at the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital (RD&E).

The Centre treats the region's blood cancer victims, performs bone marrow transplants and conducts research into the causes and treatment of the disease.

The event will be held on Saturday, September 4 at Burden Farm, near Okehampton.

Guests can enjoy a dog jumping show at 11am, which will run over a short course of showjumps, with the fastest dog and runner in each of the five classes being the winner.

The prize money for the dog jumping has been sponsored by Maunder & Sons and Mole Avon Town and Country Stores.

The wellie throwing competition will have four sections, junior up to 12 years old and ladies, mens and veterans for the over 50s.

The prizes have been sponsored by Miller & Son.

The family dog show will start at 1pm, with 16 classes.

First prize winners will win a Farlap photo portrait from Sam Clark of Farlap Photography, plus a dog treat courtesy of Vital Pet Products.

The best in show dog will receive a dog flask sponsored by Castle Pet Supplies.

There will also be a raffle with a variety of prizes. Anyone who would like to have a stall at the event can phone 01837 871799 or 07970 540167, a donation to ELF is required.
