I KNOW it's rather 'old hat' by now, but I have just seen your correspondence on the subject of Morwellham and its pronunciation: My grandfather was the last landlord of the Ship Inn in the 1920s, when he went bankrupt.

My father, Frank, born in 1920, spent a few years of his childhood there and at least one brother (Roy) was born there. His brother, George, caught polio whilst living there. George had a watchmaker's business in Market Street, Tavistock, in the 1950s early 1960s. Roy farmed at Plasterdown from about 1945 and then had a tree felling and sawmill business in Creese Lane, which my cousin, Jeremy, still has. I have various other relatives in the area.

Sorry, I have digressed . . . my father and all of his family pronounced the name as Morwell Ham and he was always annoyed when the TV advertisements mispronounced it. Edwardian Farm probably had his ashes turning on their resting place!
