MID Devon Pony Club tetrathletes had their final outing of the year at the Spooners and West Dartmoor Tri, held at Kelly College last weekend.
The 'mini mini' team of Lauren Northway, Jasmine Aven, Amelia Childs and Maddy Earp were all in fine form.
Maddy started the day equalling her personal best shoot score; she then managed to add almost 20 metres to her swim pb and still had enough energy to improve on her best run time.
Meanwhile Lauren and Jasmine were also proving the value of the club's swimming training by bettering their pb's in the pool. It was Amelia's first competition, and she did brilliantly to overcome the pressures of the shooting range and score 600 points.
The Spooners also have a parents' class on their schedule and once again the Mid Devon parents were up for the challenge.
The team of James Aven, Peter Childs and Kathryn and Pete Northway dusted off the cobwebs and oiled their joints to put up a great performance, finishing second as a team, with James coming second individually, running the second fastest time, Peter came third and Kathryn and Pete fifth and sixth with just six points between them.
Mum and Dad Northway had scored exactly the same in the shoot and the swim, so it was only the run times that separated them, although neither of them ran as fast as their daughter Lauren!
