A SHED at the Tavistock Community Sensory Garden has been badly damaged after a tree fell on it during the recent bad weather.
The combination of heavy winds and snow on March 2 brought down the tree, which was rotten at the base. No-one was hurt in the incident and Tavistock Town Council workers acted swiftly to make the area safe.
John Ladlow, project manager for the sensory garden, said: ‘It is a bit disappointing for the sensory garden as we hoped to make use of the shed very soon. It has been assessed for renovation and we hope to get it repaired as soon as possible.’
In more positive news for the garden, the sensory garden team is hoping to remove the black polythene and lay wild flower turf on the central area of the garden within the next few weeks.
