ALMOST 150 people passed through the doors of the War Memorial Hall in Yelverton last week to attend a local charity?s Christmas Fair. The event was in aid of HeartSWell South West, a charity dedicated to helping heart sufferers, their partners and carers throughout the region. There were stalls selling crafts, books, jewellery, chocolates, and local produce as well as face painting and a best carved pumpkin competition. More than £540 was raised at the fair, which will go towards buying equipment for the South West Cardiothoracic Centre at Derriford Hospital, the funding of a cardiac nurse counsellor at the hospital and the refurbishment of HeartSWell Lodge in Plymouth.
