ANYONE wishing to explore local stories is invited to a workshop led by Dartmoor cultural environmentalist Dr Tom Greeves at Chagford Jubilee Hall on Sunday, May 18 from 10am to 5pm.
Dr Greeves? extensive research on history and archaeology has uncovered a wealth of original factual and legendary material dating as far back as medieval times, from tragic to humorous.
The workshop is open to young people and adults alike and is an opportunity to learn more about Dartmoor. But it is also a stepping off point for young people intending to participate in MED Theatre?s Myth project.
Myth is the third and final strand of the theatre group?s Dartmoor Rising project, and focuses on Dartmoor?s youth, encouraging them to create drama based on their own contemporary experience, combined with researched local stories and legend in order to produce an insight into the lives and perceptions of young people living on the moor.
