AN evening of explosive humour with Blaster Bates is at the Wharf on May 31 at 8pm.
Having become acquainted with explosives during the course of the second world war, Blaster acquired such a taste for blowing things up that he subsequently became England?s leading demolition expert during peacetime.
Blaster?s perennially popular informal talks and entertainments have been supplemented by further anecdotes from his life?s work, during which time he has (up until now) turned over 600 chimney stacks to dust ? including 15 during a three week period in St Helens! Combined with this, he also recounts his various escapades in the field of leisure.
Blaster ? now aged 73 ? is still a regular recording artists, radio performer and television personality and travels the length and breadth of Great Britain and Europe to fulfil his numerous assignments and for the purpose of entertaining audiences old and new with selections from his hilarious adventures and true life tales.
