REPRESENTATIVES from West Devon authorities will be joining forces to host a Safety on Dartmoor day next month.

PCSO Dave Chapple will be joined by Rob Taylor from Dartmoor National Park and Fay Langston from the National Trust's Lydford Gorge to host an all-day event on June 23 about safety and crime prevention on Dartmoor.

The event at Lydford Gorge will also include displays from the Air Sea Rescue helicopter, Red Watch Cliff Rescue from Camels Head Fire Station and Dartmoor Search and Rescue Group.

Providing they are not needed at other jobs, there will also be appearances from Devon Air Ambulance, the police Oscar 99 helicopter, fire engines, police vehicles, and stands for the air ambulance and Dartmoor Rescue Group as well as a trailer for Dartmoor National Park.

Two security companies will be marking property at the waterfall end of Lydford Gorge and at Station Stables. It is advised to email the companies a few weeks in advance to find out what larger items need to be booked and paid for prior to the event and find out if smaller items can be paid for on the day.
