OKEHAMPTON Camera Club rose to a photographic challenge from the Western Counties Photographic Alliance recently — and submitted their work for scrutiny at a seminar in North Tawton. The seminar on 'How to Improve Your Chances of Acceptance in Open Competitions' was the third run by the West Country group and attracted 26 photographers from as far afield as Bridport, Wellington, Sidmouth, Holsworthy and Penwith. Images provided by Okehampton's photographers were subjected to a critique by four highly qualified photographic judges: Barry Bluer, LRPS, APAGB (president of WCPF); John Tilsley, ARPS, DPAGB, APAGB; Bill Aven, LRPS, DPAGB, APAGB; and Ken Holland, ARPS, DPAGB, who led the day. They offered tips on how to bring images up to exhibition standard and provided delegates with the opportunity to view a wide range of exhibition-quality images with which they could compare their own.
