THE final day of the City of Plymouth Annual Swim Meet took place on Saturday at Central Park Pools, Plymouth.
Kelly College Swim Squad had 22 swimmers competing in what turned out to be a truly entertaining and exciting finale. Kelly swimmers produced 55 personal best times, broke ten City of Plymouth records, and won 12 gold, 16 silver and 10 bronze medals, they also won 14 BAGCAT (British Age Group Categories) trophies.
Chloe Barrow (11) led the way for the girls with a first place in the BAGCATS, after placing first in the 50m fly, 200m free and the 800m free. The 11 year old girls was a very strong age group for Kelly as they also had swimmers placing second, Ella Ellis, third, Brittaney O'Reilly, fourth, Millie Murdoch and fifth Victoria Moore in the BAGCATS.
Georgia Jones (12) and Victoria Callow (13) both picked up second place BAGCATS with Megan Bassett (12) placing sixth.
In the boys BAGCATS Dan Gillard (13) came second with younger boys, Tom Brew (9) and Ben Staig (11) achieving third in the BAGCATS. Other placings were Nathan Linden (10) fourth, Jordan Channon (12) fourth and David Lloyd-Greame (13) sixth.
Eleven-year-old Brittaney O'Reilly swam her way into the open 100m breaststroke championship final, with a personal best time of 1:28.09, where she placed sixth up against girls much older than herself.
Felix Davies (15) and Cameron Carpenter-Warren (17) both reached the final of the 100m freestyle championships where Cameron won bronze and Felix placed sixth. Felix also won his age group in this event in a new record time.
Kelly College swimmers who broke City of Plymouth annual meet records on the last day are: Felix Davies (3), Cameron Carpenter-Warren (3), Oliver Lake (2), Chloe Barrow and Dan Gillard.
Medal winners for Kelly Swim Squad were Ben Staig, David Lloyd-Greame, Dan Gillard, Felix Davies, Oliver Lake, Jessamy Clemens, Chloe Barrow, Hannah Morris, Victoria Moore, Victoria Callow, Josh Carnell, Jordan Channon, Megan Bassett, Cameron Carpenter-Warren, Christy Gold, Millie Murdoch, Naomi Copperwait.
Also competing for Kelly were Caitlin Chapman, Beth Watmore, Emma Watmore, Nathan Linden and Jack Morris, who all produced good personal best times.
