HURDWICK Golf Club held their annual charity day to raise funds for the Motor Neurone Disease Association on Saturday.
Club members particularly remember Tim Reeder, who was club secretary when Hurdwick first opened in 1990.
Tim died from motor neurone disease after doing so much good work in setting the club's foundations and helping a great number of new golfers to enjoy the game.
There were a good number of entries in the betterball stableford competition and the wonderful autumn weather helped in producing exceptionally good scores.
Winners were Eric Bainbridge and George Sargison, by large margin, with 53 points.
Second were Kevin Pugh and Martin Channon with 47 points, followed in third place by Tim Gale and Kevin Fry with 46 points.
Kevin Pugh and Tim Gale were the only two players to score a 'two'.
Early indications are that the event raised around £475 for the association, an excellent result.
Thanks were expressed to all the entrants and everyone who helped to make it a successful day.
