POETS and artists are invited to submit work for an exhibition that will tour village halls and galleries on Dartmoor later this year.
Moor Poets ? who are arranging the exhibition ? hope the combination of poetry, art and cream teas will attract local people who would not normally buy a book of poems as well as poetry enthusiasts.
The exhibition will also contain work by inmates of Dartmoor Prison where Moor Poets have been holding workshops.
?We hope to make the exhibition inspiring, accessible and fun,? said Ru Roberts, chair of Moor Poets.
?There will be short readings but essentially it is an opportunity to read and enjoy local poetry and art of a high standard, to meet people and to have a cream tea in a relaxed environment.?
Through the summer the group has held a series of workshops which linked visual arts and poetry where poets could respond to sculptures or make prints or work with clay and words to respond to Dartmoor myths.
This work will be on display in the Sunday afternoon exhibitions which will include venues in Chagford and Clearbrook.
Anyone wishing to enter work should e-mail: [email protected]">[email protected] or phone 01626 853121 for details.
