A THREE-course meal hosted by the Mary Tavy Inn, along with other events, raised more than £1,000 for Help for Heroes.
Many serving and ex servicemen and women and families attended the meal, organised by Simon Palmer, tickets for which were an instant sell-out.
Guest speakers Miles Hall and Lt Cdr Jock Easton gave a sharp insight into the soldiers' situation at home and abroad.
The monthly pub quiz was held at the end of October with proceeds also going to Help for Heroes, followed by a chest waxing of local man Dave Anderson, with half the profits donated to Children in Need.
The total sum raised for Help for Heroes was £1,044.65.
Fundraiser Simon Palmer expressed thanks to Gary and Kim Lee, of the Mary Tavy Inn, and to all who attended the events.
