CELEBRITY sports personalities (yet to be named) will be opening the local launch of 'Sportivate' on Tuesday, June 14 of a nationwide campaign to get young people more active.

It takes place at various SW Lakes Trust sites across Cornwall, Devon and Somerset. On the day more than 250 young people will be visiting five lakes across three counties to have a go at three different sports - windsurfing, kayaking and sailing.

The flagship launch event will be at Roadford Lake, near Launceston.

Attending will be a high-achieving sports personality, more than 50 young people, local dignitaries, and representatives from Sport England, Cornwall Sports Partnership and Active Devon. 'Sportivate' is a national Sport England initiative set up to engage with 'semi-sporty' 14-25 year olds to become more active.

Roadford Lake will be offering taster sessions in windsurfing, sailing and kayaking to mark the launch between 1-4pm and 5-7pm.
