I WOULD like to take the opportunity to thank all the lovely ladies who attended the Ladies Night on Wednesday August 4 at Yelverton Golf Club, and especially those who gave up their time to provide a variety of lovely stalls for the night.
The evening was a fabulous success for breast cancer. We raised £864 on the night and additional donations since has meant we reached £1,000, which will go to Primrose Breast Care Centre at Derriford.
The generosity of people is astounding and through the sale of raffle tickets, home-made cakes, jams and chutneys, auction of floral arrangements and donations from other stalls the evening was enjoyed by all.
There are one in three people affected by breast cancer and, having come through the ordeal myself having a double mastectomy this year, there is hope with early diagnosis, and hopefully this donation will help towards diagnostics in breast cancer for the future. Thank you all so much for supporting me.

ON August 20 the Abbeyfield Society held its annual coffee morning at the recently refurbished and extended Drake Lodge on plymouth Road, Tavistock.
The committee and residents were delighted that so many people donned their waterproofs and came to support us on such a wet August day. Many thanks to everyone.
