A Callington businesswoman is the first in Cornwall to receive a dog grooming award from City and Guilds.

Eve Somers of Callington Dog Grooming Services, has achieved the Licentiate Award in dog grooming which is given to those who have gained the highest levels of qualification and demonstrated the best in business professionalism and animal care.

The annual ceremony was held in Threadneedle St, London and Eve said she was honoured to have achieved the award. There are only approximately 25 others in the UK and Republic of Ireland who hold it.

Eve has been grooming dogs since the age of five and her salon is a teaching salon.
