ROADWORKS are under way to strengthen a weak section of the steep bank adjacent to the B3362 Tavistock to Launceston road at Old Greystone Hill. The road edge is being reconstructed to prevent erosion of the bank undermining the carriageway. A reinforced concrete slab is being laid along the western side of the road and a natural stone-faced reinforced concrete wall to provide a barrier for traffic for a length of approximately 150 metres. When the works are completed, the full width of the carriageway will be resurfaced for a length of approximately 150 metres. Work started on February 5 and will be completed by the end of March. Traffic is being controlled by temporary lights.
