AN EXCITING event highlighting green issues offers two days packed with activities next month.

The E4E Event for the Environment organised by West Devon environmental group, Westden, is being held at The Wharf in Tavistock on Sunday and Monday, November 2 and 3.

The event offers a range of activities — on the Sunday, Cathy Karniewicz, aka Mrs Recycle, will give a talk about recycling and an afternoon activity for children will see them making funky eco warriors.

There will also be films, presentations and workshops including one on organic gardening and composting.

Westden co-ordinator Geri Laithwaite is keen to see as many people as possible at the event, particularly young people.

Geri said: 'We want to motivate young people into believing that they can change the world, with the right tools.'

Included in Monday's programme will be a presentation for the business sector from Jamie Mclaren, of Envision, to give businesses information and advice on how to reduce their energy levels.

The event will finish with a talk by top motivational speaker Jack Russell.

The E4E campaign aims to open people's eyes to where the world is headed and how they can pull together and make a change for the better. It hopes to try and raise awareness of the world's environmental.

Geri added: 'This is something for everybody. Before the credit crunch really hit, Westden was just concentrating on environmental issues, but now we want to be a platform for the public.

'We cannot carry on using this world and chucking it in the bin.'

The two-day E4E is completely free — all individuals, businesses and and organisations in the area are warmly invited to attend.
