NATURAL England are organising two taster health walks as part of the Tamar Trail Festival.

The free walks, leaving from Calstock and Morwellham Quay, aim to introduce people to the health benefits of walking.

Lone Mouritsen of Natural England said: 'We're eager to spread the word about how good walking is for physical and mental health. Both walks are free and people are welcome to just turn up on the day — we hope there will be a really good turn out.'

The first walk is from Calstock on Thursday October 23,  in partnership with Cornwall's Mobilise! Project and with support from Cornwall PCT. Meet outside the Tamar Inn on Calstock Quay at 12.45pm  for a choice of two routes. The paths are quite narrow in places so not suitable for wheelchairs or pushchairs.

The second walk is from Morwellham Quay, on Friday October 24, in partnership with Tavistock Walk and Talk. Meet at the entrance to the car park at 2pm.

There will be three routes to follow — the main walk will follow the one-and-a-half mile Morwellham Nature Trail which begins and ends at the car park.

Tamar Trail Festival runs from tomorrow (Friday) until November 2.
