FORMER Tavistock College student Bethan Ayling has just been selected to play for England Colleges with the first match to be played against Scotland on Saturday, February 2 in Edinburgh.  Bethan, age 17, who attended Tavistock College, was spotted during a PE lesson by then, teacher placement Tristan Forster who recommended that she attended a trial for Devon three seasons ago.  She hasn't looked back since. The talented prospect was selected and went on to play for the South West region in the same year and has been selected for the last two seasons as well with this year being vice captain of Devon. Bethan, who attends City College Plymouth where she is studying a National Btec in sport, went down to Truro in October for trials for the South West British Colleges squad and from that the coach nominated players to trial for the England Colleges squad in December 2007. Bethan, who currently plays centre for Plymouth Albion and fullback/centre for Devon, received conformation, on January 15, to say that she is in the starting line up.
