CHILDREN and staff at Calstock Primary School celebrated a cash boost to their fundraising recently with a cheque from Good Energy.
The school came third in a competition hosted by the energy company to create an art work with a renewables/eco theme. The children produced a sunshine collage co-ordinated by parent Suzy Hardy.
It was down to a public vote on Good Energy's Facebook page — the number of 'likes' received — and allowance was given for the small size of the school.
Calstock beat a number of others to the third place position and received a cheque for £1,000 which will be put towards the school's £17,000 fundraising target for solar panels to be installed on the school roof as part of the Solar Schools initiative.
