ZEST athletes travelled to the Foot Anstey Junior Aquathlon in Taunton on Sunday for their last race in the South West Series for this season.

Emily Attfield was the first Zest athlete to compete and came an excellent third overall in 10.47 minutes after having the third fastest 150 metre swim followed by the second fastest 1,500 metre run in the girls' Tristar 1 9-10 years.

Jordan Channon and Matthew Green then raced in the boys' Tristar 1 category (9 and 10year olds). Jordan secured overall first place, finishing in 9.01 minutes with Matt coming in 5th in 9.54 minutes.

In Tristar 2 girls (age 11-12) there were 20 taking part. Hannah Greep had a good 250m swim and gained a couple of places with an excellent 2km run to finish seventh in 13.24 minutes, while Kate Marks showing great determination finished 18th in 16.12 minutes .

Tristar 2 boys saw Jack Base coming sixth (14.27mins) and Ryan Helcoop finishing tenth (15.33mins). They both had fantastic run sections with Jack having the fastest and Ryan the fifth fastest, ensuring good overall places.

Tristar3 girls (13-14 yrs) -Amy Marks started with the fourth fastest 365m swim and maintained that position in the 3km run to come in fourth place after both disciplines with a time of 20.03 minutes.

In the boys' race Will Carter ran and swam strongly to finish third in 17.56 minutes with Tom Green also having a good race to finish fifth in 19.13minutes. 

Zest athletes are now eagerly awaiting the final ranking to determine where they finished overall in the South West Junior British Triathlon series.
