DESPITE dismal weather, Tavistock Cricket Club's annual golf day at Tavistock Golf Club was a great success with eleven teams contesting for some excellent prizes.

Winners this year were The Oddballs, regular participants and now first time winners.

The team consisting of Mike Crocker, Andy Rich, Cliff Hobbs and Dave Manning were delighted to receive the trophy from golf club president Dennis Greening, along with a complementary round of golf at Teignmouth.

Runners up were The Organisers, with Andy Jarman Racing in third. Longest drive was won by Adam Chidzoy, while Robert Jarman won nearest the pin.

Tavistock Cricket Club vice chairman, Paul Vickers, said: 'We have had a great day.

'This event continues to grow in popularity and we are most grateful to our sponsors, Brown's Hotel, Mike James at Westcountry Financial and Miller & Son Estate Agents.
