HATHERLEIGH Community Centre is looking really smart thanks to a day of volunteering from Southern Electrical Contracting.
Work to change the lamps on the floodlit sports area, which saved the centre £500 alone, plus general tidying up, weeding the garden and moving pieces of granite, was carried out by a group of SEC contractors, including the husband of the administrative secretary Lisa Gilbert.
Lisa said SEC volunteering days were carried out on a national level but Hatherleigh was one of the first projects in Devon to benefit.
'The work they did was fantastic. We were so pleased and the re-lamping alone would have cost a lot of money so we are very grateful for what SEC has done.'
