EIGHT Mid Devon Pony Club members enjoyed a successful weekend in the sunshine at the South Devon Moorland club's annual Tetrathlon, with all of them coming home with rosettes.

Things got off to a great start with Maddie Earp having the joint best shoot in her class. Laurie Bilton also shot well, achieving a personal best score, as did Thomas Bayley. The run proved quite challenging for most competitors, but Thomas flew round in the best time for his class – the fourth competition in succession that he has had the best run.

In the club's novice the junior team of Elinor Townshend, Fay Hirst, Kate Bilton and Rosie Lyon Smith put in solid performances, while Lily Bayley was figuring at the top end of the leader board in the junior girls class.

The swimming phase took place at Bovey Traceys' outdoor pool and Fay and Rosie both improved their PBs after great swims.

The riding  was held on Sunday in the fabulous setting of Holwell Lawn and all the Mid Devon gang had rides to be proud of. In the novice juniors, Elinor and Rosie both did superbly, riding clear rounds, while Kate had just one stop. Thomas also finished with just one unlucky stop, while his sister Lily rode clear. Laurie & Maddie both had promising rides round the novice mini course.

When the results were announced, Maddie's team had come second; Laurie finished sixth individually and his team came first; Thomas was third in the mini boys and Lily was thirds in junior girls. Elinor, Fay, Kate and Rosie had done really well to finish  fourth in their class
