TAVISTOCK Primary and Nursery School has expressed its gratitude to Tesco shoppers who have supported a scheme to improve the school playground.

The school applied for a £5,000 grant from the Tesco Bags of Help scheme and received the full amount. Along with a £2,500 grant from County Councillor Debo Sellis and the Invest in Devon grant funding, the money has been spent to transform the school’s nursery garden from a wet, muddy patch to a colourful, clean play area that children can now use all year round.

The space is also important in ensuring that children are able to access all elements of the Foundation Stage curriculum.
