Free items of school uniforms are being made available to help Tavistock families feeling the pinch in the current cost of living crisis.

A school uniform swap is being held at Tavistock Library tomorrow, Thursday, August 27, from 11am to 3pm. There will be a wide range of uniform for Tavistock schools to choose from, including a range of girls shoes.

An event spokesperson said: “Families are welcome to come along and pick up the school uniform their child needs — completely free. Whether you’re looking for shirts, trousers, skirts, dresses, jumpers, cardigans or other school basics, come and have a browse. And you don’t need to have anything to donate to take part.

“The event is free and open to everyone. You don’t need to belong to a particular school, or bring anything with you.

“If a parent or carers has a child who has suddenly grown three sizes over the summer, then come along and see what we have. We want to help as many local families as possible.”
